RETHINKING IMPACT IN EDUCATION

What we measure… isn’t always what matters.

in schools, impact is usually defined by:

  • Grades

  • Data

  • Assessments

  • Benchmarks

  • Performance metrics

These are useful — but they are not the whole story.

The impact that truly shapes young people is quieter:

  • the thinking they practice

  • the kindness they show

  • the agency they develop

  • the problems they learn to navigate

  • the contribution they make to others

  • the resilience they build

  • the awareness they grow

Real educational impact is right at the heart of who students become.

And ‘becoming’ is so much more important than what they achieve.

This philosophy sits at the heart of everything I do.

MY GLOBAL IMPACT (POWERED BY B1G1)

Making small moments count — globally

Through B1G1 - I contribute to projects that reflect the values I hold most deeply: education, wellbeing, environment, equality and opportunity.

Every number here represents a life touched by a simple act:

Each impact is small on its own — but collectively, they make a real difference.

This is the Power of All.

THE FOUR LENSES OF IMPACT

How I think about impact in learning and life

Awareness

Noticing what matters — in ourselves, our students, and our world.

Intention

Choosing small, purposeful actions that align with our values.

Modelling

Children learn who we are by what we do, not just what we say.

Multiplication

Small acts repeated — in classrooms, homes and communities become culture.

Explore the positive change our solutions bring to students and educators worldwide.

IMPACT IN SCHOOLS

Where small actions transform learning

When students engage in meaningful, intentional action — even tiny acts — something powerful happens:

  • Their thinking expands

  • Their resilience grows.

  • Their sense of agency strengthens.

  • Their worldview broadens.

  • Their empathy deepens.

Impact isn’t an “add‑on”.
It’s a way of seeing, thinking and being.

When young people practice impact, they practice becoming the adults our world needs.

This is the work I care about most.

A Few Things You Might

Be Wondering

What do you mean by “The Power of Small”?

Academic performance matters, but it’s not the whole picture.
My work focuses on
who students are becoming, not just what they achieve. Things like thinking skills, resilience, empathy, agency, and contribution are often the foundations that academic success grows from.

How is this different from traditional “impact” in schools?

Traditional impact is often measured through data, benchmarks, and assessments. Those are useful tools.

This work looks beyond them — toward the habits, values, and ways of thinking that students practice every day. Real impact is often quieter, harder to measure, and far more lasting.

How does global impact fit into this work?

Through B1G1, small actions taken locally contribute to meaningful change globally. Each impact is simple on its own, but together they reflect shared values around education, wellbeing, equality, and opportunity. This is what I call The Power of All.

What happens if I reach out?

We talk.

That’s it. A thoughtful, open conversation about impact, learning, leadership, and what matters in your community. From there, we’ll see what, if anything, makes sense.
